Today’s Family Life Today radio show focused on a topic that is very relevant to our lives today, especially when one considers what a litigious society we have become. Some of our litigious tendencies come from old fashioned greed, but some come from a complete lack of willingness to forgive or forget the wrongs we have suffered at the hands of others. But forgiveness can be one of the most powerful forces we can wield in our lives; so just how can we best apply the principles of forgiveness?
Today’s guest speaker, Ken Sande, founder of Peacemaker Ministries, went through what he calls The Seven A’s of Confession. Here they are in order:
1) Address everyone involved or affected
2) Avoid the use of the words, “if,” “but,” and “maybe.” Remember, if make excuses, then its NOT an apology.
3) Admit specifically your attitudes as well as actions.
4) Apologize, i.e., admit that you were wrong.
5) Accept whatever consequences come from your actions.
6) Alter your behaviour
7) Ask for forgiveness and recognize that the other person(s) may need some time before they can.

Depend upon it, Sir, when a man knows he is to be hanged in a fortnight, it concentrates his mind wonderfully. by gambling
