In a stunning development today, a new Democratic candidate has appeared, literally from nowhere, and is already polling ahead of President Bush. A Zogby Poll, released recently, shows the new Democratic front-runner offers his party its best chance yet to regain some semblence of power in Washington after nearly a decade of declining influence.
“Its an unprecedented occurrence,” stated one of the Zogby pollster. “I can’t say as I’ve seen anything like it in all my years at Zogby.”
One White House staffer commented on the condition that she remain anonymous that the President and his senior campaign staff are still trying to analyze the implications of this new development. “Its a bit worrisome that this candidate could come from nowhere and immediately poll ahead of the President,” she commented, “on the other hand, this is politics as usual, and the President is familiar with the constant ebb and flow of poll numbers, even after only a few years in office.”
“We feel confident that these initial numbers will not hold over the long term,” the staffer went on to say. “We’ll probably adopt a ‘wait-and-see’ approach, especially in light of the fact that we don’t even know how his other Democratic rivals will react to this new competition.”
Though Viewpointjournal has tried repeatedly to obtain comments from each of the so-called “Nine Dwarfs,” there have been, as yet, no responses to our overtures. “Its likely,” said one Democratic Party insider, “that they are doing exactly as the President is doing, that is, talking this new development through and considering their next course of action.”
It should also be mentioned that Viewpointjournal staff has also been trying to reach the staff of this new Democratic frontrunner, Someone New, but have been met with the same wall of silence. As can be seen in the Zogby Poll below, the President and Mr. New are locked in a statistical dead heat, with Mr. New leading in a poll that has a plus or minus 3% error rate.

Viewpointjournal is continuing to work on the details of this late-breaking story and will publish details as they are uncovered. One thing is certain, the Zogby polling organization has once again stolen the spotlight from its better-known rivals and industry experts are predicting that the reputation of other polling organizations will suffer from their total failure to pick up on this new candidate.
While Democrats and Republicans continue to vie for political advantage, so do polling organizations around the country vie for recognition by the press in bringing the latest and most interesting poll numbers to the press. Certainly this out-of-the-box identification of this tenth Democratic candidate, Someone New, will give Zogby a lead out of the gate as the 2004 election cycle continues to heat up.

This would be funnier if the “somebody new” was presented as the one who had a greater poll ratings then all the other democratic candidates….combined. Here after to be referred to as the demo-candidates…
