I noted this article today on the shortage of ADHD meds. as someone who takes Vyvanse, I noted recently that, soon after the drug was available in generic, it also disappeared from pharmacies. Fortunately I have been able to get it each month by paying extra for the brand rather than generic. Vyvanse is a newer version of traditional ADHD meds in that it takes much longer to take effect in the body (about 45 minutes for me), lasts longer during the day, and then slowly fades in effect. This means less of a “jolt” when you feel the effects on both ends. Meanwhile, like so many, it has allowed me to function effectively in the professional world where for so many years, I struggled. There has been a great deal of research over the years on the effects of these meds and it’s a mixed bag, I admit. However, from personal experience, these meds are still needed until a better option appears. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/adderall-shortage-adhd-medication-ascent-pharmaceuticals.html
